Nintendo of Europe has published the latest European Nintendo eShop charts and it seems as though the creative sandbox game, Minecraft, remains unstoppable despite initially launching on consoles in 2012 as it is No.1 this week. Minecraft is followed at No.2 here in Europe by the entertaining Nintendo Switch Sports which added golf to its sporting lineup of games which also includes volleyball, chambara and more.
Nintendo eShop top ten for 12th February, 2023:
- Minecraft
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Fire Emblem Engage
- FIFA 23 Legacy Edition
- Pokemon Violet
- Stardew Valley
- Among Us
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokemon Scarlet
- Disney Dreamlight Valley

Minecraft is my go to game, no matter what else im playing i’ve always got time for Minecraft. I don’t think i’ve played any game as addictive as Minecraft!
smash bros!
Minecraft holding No.1 in Europe after all these years makes sense, and Switch Sports sitting at No.2 with golf added fits how my group plays. I’ve been killing time on fnf mods, a rhythm game with 90s-looking visuals and rap battles, which scratches a different itch than these charts.
Minecraft sitting at No.1 again is wild when it first hit consoles back in 2012. Switch Sports adding golf helped it hold No.2, though Stardew Valley popping up in the top ten feels more telling. I mostly play browser stuff between eShop sessions, slope has been my go-to lately, kind of the high octane follow-up to that endless runner Slope.
It’s impressive to see Minecraft still dominating the charts more than a decade after its console debut. Its creativity, constant updates, and appeal to players of all ages have given it incredible staying power.
Minecraft staying at No.1 is no surprise, and seeing Switch Sports at No.2 after the golf update makes sense. The European chart is basically comfort games plus a few new releases. I check basketball bros when I want a fast arcade basketball fix between longer sessions, since it’s all quick matches and highlight plays. Funny how those short games often stick around longer than I expect.
Stardew Valley still hanging around at No. 5 after all these years is the part that got me. Also funny that Switch Sports added golf and it’s sitting at No. 2 in Europe. I don’t follow charts much, but I’ve been killing time with spunki game lately, mixing beats and character sounds instead of clearing my actual backlog.
