Nintendo has been very active with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack retro libraries lately. Although it varies which retro library gets updated, Nintendo’s schedule with new additions has reached a point where it is guaranteed to see at least one retro game added a month.
For example, Nintendo has announced tonight that Pokemon Stadium will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack this month. In fact, you’ll be able to play the game on April 12th. You can see Nintendo’s official announcement trailer of the news down below.

I don’t want to play this. It’ll just remind me that the Pokemon N64 game has better animations than Pokemon Switch games.
I really let myself get excited when they removed the statement saying Pokemon couldn’t be transferred to Stadium shortly before Pokemon day, or when they said they were experimenting with transfer pak emulation before Stadium was even announced for the service.
I been waiting for this for them to do it but now they did.
Only way I’ll play this of I can transfer my Pokémon over.
Wasn’t there also a GameCube version of this game? Either way I’m happy to get to play it again. I remember briefly playing it at some point when I was younger.
Colosseum is very different, it has a story to go through and acts as a distribution for the Johto Pokemon for the gen 3 games. Stadium is more of something you can play alongside your gen 1 experience, and round 2’s increased difficulty is very good postgame content. There’s rental pokemon to use if you don’t have a GameBoy game to play along with it, but most people don’t find it very enjoyable.
I’m starting to think Nintendo forgot about Mario Party 3. The first two got added back in October; what’s taking so long for 3?
Nice Birthday surprise!!
Never played Pokemon Stadium, this will be a fresh experience for myself anyhow. April 12th can’t get here soon enough.
