A month ago, developer Visual Concepts and publisher 2K announced LEGO 2K Drive. As the name obviously implies, it’s a racing game based on the LEGO toys. The game is currently slated to release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on May 16th.
Well, retailers, such as Amazon, have recently put up listings for the game on their site. The new listings include the game’s official box art, and unfortunately, it has revealed that the physical release of LEGO 2K Drive will not include a game cartridge. Instead, it will only include a digital download code, and the box art warns you that a microSD card is required. You can see a picture of the box art down below.
Well that is physically pointless!
why waste money on a physical box when they wont include a physical cartridge? its not physical if the game is only a code? thats like selling a car in a dealership but you get a code for a digital car.
Why don’t they just make it available as digital only and not have a case that includes a voucher code for the digital version. This will hurt the number of units sold, because some won’t purchase digital games or a case that includes a voucher code.
2K did this with all of their games on Switch, some were understandable but not this nah, 2K can put that game where the Sun don’t shine

I was going to buy this, but without a physical cartridge that’s pointless. I have no wish to waste the limited space on my switch downloading a game, especially when I’m not the only person in the house who wants to play it, my daughter does too and I’d rather she did that on her console, not mine. And to top it off, you need to buy an SD Card too. Why not include that in the overpriced empty game box? Looks like I’ll be sticking to Mario Kart.
