Variety reveals more details on Knuckles spin-off starring Idris Elba

Entertainment website Variety has revealed more details on the live-action Knuckles series which is gearing up for release on Paramount Plus. Knuckles will once again be played by Idris Elba and the story will revolve around Knuckles training up Wade Whipple as his protégé and teaching him the ways of the Echidna warrior. The timeline for the Knuckles series has also been revealed by Variety and will take place between the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. You can read more here.

“Production on the series is now underway in London. John Whittington, who worked on the screenplay for “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” wrote the pilot for “Knuckles” and serves as head writer and executive producer on the series. Brian Schacter and James Madejski are also writers.”

“Jeff Fowler, who directed both “Sonic the Hedgehog” films, will direct the pilot episode and executive produce the series. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher of Original Film and Toru Nakahara — all members of the films’ creative team — serve as executive producers, as does Elba. Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone, and Carol Banker are also directing episodes. Paramount Pictures and Sega of America produce.”

  1. I had to look up who Wade was again, saw it is Tom’s follow cop buddy and went “huh, okay”. He was/is pretty forgettable to me like most of the humans in the movies.

    I don’t expect great things from this tv series but I do hope it doesn’t focus entirely on the unlikely dou here.
