Popular Japanese gaming site Famitsu has chatted with Octopath Traveler director, Keisuke Miyauchi, about the acclaimed Japanese RPG series. The most recent game Octopath Traveler II improved a lot upon its predecessor and they are already discussing what could be next for the franchise. Mr. Miyauchi says that they haven’t decided just yet on the future of the series, but have been casually discussing ideas.
Famitsu: “Compared to the last entry, this game [Octopath Traveler II] has advanced a lot, but I can’t help but wonder, “If II has already evolved this much, what would they do if they made a III?” A bit premature to think about, though…”
Miyauchi: “We haven’t decided clearly on future developments yet, but we have casually chatted about what could evolve in the future.”
I’m kinda curious to see Octopath 3 take a contemporary setting since 1 was medieval and 2 had a 19th centruy thing going on.
I agree. Something like an Earthbound game would be awesome.
Stop creating multiple unfinished universes! Noone need final fantasy X2, final fantasy 13 2. Create only main titles with number like a “full” game! Noone need dlcs or unfinished games. Bravely default is great game but bravely default 2 is too mediocre. Octopath and triangle is bad way! If squareenix need new main serie like final fantasy, choice one good name and use it with number like octopath 1 2 3! Noone need endless new mobile trash final fantasies and sideseries! Create only AAA big full games! Actual dragon quest and xenoblade chronicles beat every new final fantasy game, shame.

I understand story of games, why i learn more of that oilwar agresive imperial language? Bad games sell too, especialy milions infantile childs on mobile phones where games is “free”. But in psx era square release only great games! Why create so many not so great (trash) games like deus ex fall, fear effect sedna, ff all the bravest, ff explorers, ff airborne brigade :( soo much shame!

Alexander I completely agree. And those games are trash. They should just stick with main universes. I hate the multiple universe thing in comics too. Just come up with a new thing. Solidify the existing IP instead.
