SEGA has now provided an update on sales for a number of their big franchises such as Sonic Frontiers and Persona 5 Royal Remaster. The first 3D Sonic adventure for a long while, Sonic Frontiers, sales are now at 3.2 million worldwide (as of the end of March 2023) which is a substantial amount of units, and with additional downloadable coming, it should shift a lot more in the future. The critically-acclaimed Persona 5 Royal Remaster has sold over 1.7 million (as of the end of March 2023)
Sonic Frontiers
- IP growth through hits for movies and animations, collaborations, and etc.
- Expand sales opportunities by global simultaneous launch × multi-platform support
- Worldwide unit sales: Over 3.2 million units (as of the end of March 2023)
Persona 5 Royal (Remaster)
- Expand sales opportunities by global simultaneous launch x multi-platform support
- Worldwide unit sales: Over 1.7 million (as of the end of March 2023)
What do they mean by this?
I’m surprised sonic adventure hasn’t been ported to Nintendo switch digitally. I downloaded this video so I can watch it offline using an mp4 converter.
Ew. DX is a shoddy port with a lot of issues and bugs not found on the Dreamcast.
If they would do a port more like the Dreamcast version or even the Dreamcast Conversion mod, I’d like that, but DX is bad.
Same for SA2, Battle screwed the models, lighting and cutscenes. And a level is impossible to Perfect Ring due to them changing the level and not changing the total to reflect that.
“hits for movies”…after the super mario movie success Sega has to reevaluate what a hit means.
Just because its not as successful as something else doesnt mean its not a hit or successful
If the super mario movie is used as a metric as to what constitutes as a hit videogame movie, then there are no other hit videogame movies and probably never will be.
