Hogwarts Legacy proved to be a huge success both sales-wise and also with regards to review scores from critics. So it is not surprising to hear that the development team at Avalanche Software is now gearing up for their next game, which according to recently published job listings, is another high profile AAA game. It is not clear whether it is going to be another Hogwarts-based game or a different intellectual IP. There’s still a smaller team working on the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, which is coming to Nintendo’s current gaming platform on 14th November, That is if it isn’t delayed again.

Based off my experience playing Hogwarts Legacy im sure whatever AAA title it is it’ll be amazing.
Before I mention my thoughts, why is intellectual added before IP? It’s redundant because the I in IP already stands for intellectual.
Anyway…
Crossing my fingers that it’s Hogwarts Legacy 2. I’m curious to see how they continue the MC’s story. A trilogy would be nice, so we can go as a Sixth & Seventh Year student with our current character. (I won’t mind exploring the same locations 2 more times. Spider-Man does it with New York City & people rarely complain about that.) Or if they want to do a different time period in the Potterverse, maybe set it during Merlin’s time at Hogwarts. There’s a TON they could change about the lands around Hogwarts if they went THAT far back in time.
Anyway, that said, I won’t complain if it’s a different IP. Maybe LotR? A game set during the last year of Morgoth’s reign would be nice. After the flop of Gollum, fans could do with a better LotR game.
Part of me hopes that this is an original IP: given how they handled Hogwarts legacy, I think that the team could do well with their own thing 💯
