Nintendo has updated its best Nintendo Switch software charts since the system launched in March 2017. The best-selling video game for Nintendo’s current system remains Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by a healthy margin at 55.46 million copies sold worldwide. It is followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which bloomed over the pandemic, and has now sold 42.79 million copies worldwide as of 30th June 2023. The acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has now sold 18.51 million copies worldwide.

I think Nintendo opened up Pandora’s box when they started re-releasing their games on the Switch and noticed how big they were selling, now we got other devs doing the same thing with older titles
They did, but it only worked because of how abysmal the Wii U sold. If PS re-releases PS4 games for the PS5 it won’t work quite as well considering how many units the PS4 moved. So I hope Nintendo doesn’t try re-releasing Switch games on its predecessor.
