Nobody could have accurately predicted just how much of a success the Super Mario Bros. Movie would be when it was first announced. The film has smashed it at the box-office becoming the third highest grossing animated film of all-time. Movie magazine Empire has thought hard about other Nintendo characters or franchises which deserve their own films and have come up with the following list which features a few characters and series you may not have thought about with regards to their Hollywood potential. Get Studio Mappa or Cloverworks to work on a Star Fox Anime whilst one of the better Fantasy Anime Studios works on Fire Emblem
Chain Chomp is the most confusing one out of the lot… like how?
My guess is that’s their take that to Sakurai who would rather put in a random mook than a character people actually want like Waluigi or Toad. Even Goomba or Koopa deserve to be in Smash more than Piranha Plant.
I had an idea, what if it’s like Dug Days where it follows some Slice of Life Comedy with a Chain Chomp being orthaned as a pup but is rescued by Luigi, eventually they start growing a bond and the film is really about showing people that Chain Chomps aren’t monsters and deserve love to, so it’d have a message for the kids whilst also cracking a few adult jokes in.
I think that would be a good angle to take it

I would totally be down for a Metroid movie, but who would be the best pic to play Samus? And should they do live action, 2D, or CG?
Maybe a Fire Emblem and Star Fox movie. No Zelda movie though because there is no way they could do a movie without Link saying a word and him talking would ruin it, although Willys Wonderland Nic Cage didn’t speak either so yea Nic Cage as Link 🤣🤣🤣

I agree with you, Kirby should get a movie definitely 👍, Kirby is one of my favorite video game characters besides Mario, I also think there should be a Star Fox movie, I think it would be awesome to watch in theaters.

There are a ton of franchises listed here that don’t even get new game releases. You really think Nintendo will make a movie about the Ice Climbers? How am I supposed to take this seriously? Its like Empire just looked up Nintendo franchises and randomly picked them from a hat. Yeah, lets go see that new Chain Chomp movie… >_>
Ahahahaaaa, no way do I want F-Zero to get a movie before it gets another game. Besides, it already had an anime that was… slightly little bit more than decent (probably would’ve been better if so many characters weren’t rewritten to be bad guys and criminals).
