Davide Soliani, the mastermind behind the Mario + Rabbids franchise, has said that he would love to be given the opportunity to work on the Rayman franchise in the future. The latest expansion for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope introduces Rayman after his lengthy departure and is a well-done slice of DLC. It is not clear whether Ubisoft has any plans to resurrect the Rayman series, but Mr. Soliani clearly wants to be onboard if it ever does see the light of day again.
“If I had the opportunity, I would be crazy to not take that chance. To be honest, yes. I mean, Rayman is the type of game that has no realistic element. And because there is no realism, everything that you create in the game comes from your fantasy and the fantasy of the team. And so, [everything] from a chair to a table to an enemy to the environment is a form of art, is creating something from scratch. So to me as a developer, it’s the pinnacle of all the possibilities. You can go crazy and create your own stuff, as we did in Sparks of Hope. I think I would be crazy to not take that opportunity if given the chance.”

Thanks to GreatSong1 for the news tip!

Its time for new Rayman singleplayer 2D platformer game :) i hope with great soundtrack like in original :)
Maybe it’s just me, but I’d love to see Ubi take another stab at a 3D Rayman platformer. Rayman 2 is still one of my favorite games of its generation, and it felt like a great realization of what made the original Rayman so aesthetically pleasing despite the hardware limitations of the time. Imagine what a 3D Rayman could look like with today’s modern rendering capabilities
I too love 3D platformers but great 3D platformer need one of best nintendo studios. Many nonnintendo 3D platformers is mediocre. If new Rayman 3d game create studio like hal laboratory (3D Kirbi) or nintendo edp (bowsers fury) game is minimal 8/10 rating. Ubisoft create good 2D platformer Rayman and actual great rabbids strategy but jumping mechanism in 3D platformer is poor. Better create great 2D, not mediocre 3D.
To each his own. I think Rayman could really shine in another 3D outing with the right team. It’s been 20 years (!) since Rayman 3, so we’re long overdue in my eyes
