UK charts: Super Mario Bros. Wonder has overthrown Spider-Man 2 this week

The latest boxed video game software charts have come through from the largest gaming market in Europe, the United Kingdom, and there’s a new No.1 this week. This week sees Super Mario Bros. Wonder overthrow Spider-Man 2, which was last week’s best-selling video game. In other news, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 entered the charts at No.4. Here’s the best-selling video games in the UK for the week ending 28th October, 2023:

  1. While that’s nice and all, it didn’t do it in the week that mattered, which was last week on its debut. Sales fall off massively after week 1 and old games often top the chart because sales are so low.

    Even decade old Wii U port Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has topped the chart several times over the years, and as recently as a couple of months ago it did so.

    1. Week one doesn’t matter as much as total units before falloff. Both titles will sell very well through Christmas but I don’t think anyone predicts SM2 to outsell Mario, several recent Mario’s have come close to outselling all three (SM2018, PS5 remake, Miles Morales) SM games combined.
