The Entertainment Software Rating Board is a great source for unannounced games and the latest game which has been rated is the Felix the Cat. The game is set to land on Nintendo Switch and other platforms and has been given an E rating by the US rating board. The Felix the Cat game originally launched on the Nintendo Entertainment System and was developed by Hudson Soft and published by Konami.
Rating Summary
“This is a collection of action platformers in which players help Felix save his girlfriend from an evil professor. Players traverse 2D pixelated environments while using gadgets and vehicles (e.g., punching glove, tank, submarine) to defeat small cartoony creatures. Enemies typically fall from the screen when hit; some boss encounters depict whimsical pistol attacks, cartoony bombs, and mild explosions.”
Thanks to Greatsong1 for sending in the news tip!
That’s a series you don’t hear everyday, what a blast from the past. Don’t know how well it will do even with nostalgia as a factor.
I knew Felix The Cat was a cartoon, but didn’t realize they had games.
Nes game was very good, let’s see if it’s just a port or if it’s a remake or a brand new game
I guess at this point, if they’re still “looking to” it would be for the Switch successor.
I feel like Konami has some
Incredible franchises under their name and absolutely no talent working under them to bring their games to life.
Hence why they hired 3rd parties to do the new Silent Hill games. Ascension doesn’t inspire much hope, though. Hopefully it’s not a sign of bad shit to come.
It’s exciting to hear that Konami may be bringing back the Felix the Cat game for the Nintendo Switch! The ESRB rating summary provides a glimpse into the gameplay and features, and it sounds like a fun action platformer. I’m looking forward to seeing more details about the game. Thank you for sharing this news with rice purity test members!
I am so full of glee to hear this. I will keep an eye on this one.
