Free Radical Design, the team behind the beloved Timesplitters games, has now sadly been closed by Embracer Group today. The news came as the company’s website leads to a 404 not found page and a number of employees for Free Radical Design have been posting on social media saying their goodbyes to the studio. The closure was heavily rumoured and sadly today it seems to have become reality.

Does the Embracer Group do anything good? They’re like a cancer killing anything they touch.
The only remotely good thing they done in recent times would be that game preservation effort they started last year (https://www.timeextension.com/news/2023/10/embracer-games-archive-hits-significant-new-milestone). Outside of that everything else is just one disaster after another.
The one thing I was looking forwards to in a few years. Should’ve at least remasted the old games, or gave them ports.
Sad to see Free Radical vanish, wish all the best to everyone going forward.
