Nintendo acquires Bandai Namco Studios Singapore to be renamed Nintendo Studios Singapore

Ooh, that smells like a full acquisition of Bandai Namco in the next few years, if not months!
Probably not unless they want in on anime, TV/film productions in Japan, and toys. Nintendo should pursue acquiring Square Enix and Sega.
I don’t see how that would bother them since they do it too… and then it would diversify them even more, that’s what they’re looking for.
@kzdial No, Nintendo acquired a large share of the founder and let Bandai Namco’s shares be, but they bought them much later, I think it was in 2021
Nintendo’s way of saying they’re fed up with Bandai’s very late Switch/Switch 2 ports, mostly. I’d be too, considering Bandai, sometimes, sabotaged themselves with them.
But nah, I don’t think it’s paving the way for a full acquisition. At least not in the foreseeable future, unless Bandai’s situation is actually pretty bad.
Especially since Sony has a pretty big stake in Bandai Namco, they WOULD NOT be willing to lose out on Bandai after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, the only other huge international company left then would be EA, and no way any of them can afford that
Relax, Sony owns 2.5 % of Bandai Namco. As long as Nintendo becomes majority sharesholder, Sony can’t do anything other than suggest things.
And EA is already being bought. Did you miss the $55 Billion Saudi PIF deal?
For a second, I thought they bought all of Bandai Namco. Nonetheless, this is still pretty big.
Isn’t this how they acquired Monolith? They already own a percent of Bandai Namco.
Would Sony’s 2.5% stake in bandai namco stop Nintendo buying them when Nintendo plans to buy an 80% stake?
Only thing they can do is buy more stock. But why would they stop Nintendo from buying Namco off? Nintendo and Namco tend to have a very profitable relationship, which translates to more money for Sony. Seems silly, especially since Sony hasn’t actively persuade Namco.
Wow, Nintendo acquiring Bandai Namco Studios Singapore is huge! It’s cool they’re strengthening their development, especially with Splatoon. Speaking of cool, if you need some funky text for your game designs or social media, check out a freaky font generator for unique fonts.
