It would seem as though The Game Awards has been a resounding success for Geoff Keighley and the production crew, as Geoff has tweeted that this year’s event was the most watched in the show’s history. The event had 118 million viewers, which is astounding, but has been criticised when it was revealed that the winners only had an extremely short space of time to make their speeches. No doubt The Game Awards will be back next year with some changes.
The Game Awards 2023 were watched by 118 million people

I would appreciate Game Awards stop relaying so much on Hollywood actors and focus on game developers instead. And like yeah, the speeches the actual developers were cut way too short.
But content wise, I was very pleased with the show.
The thing is, game developers are not entertainers. Most of them are akward in front of a camera, that was the problem with e3 presentations.
But I agree however, that more focus should be given to developers even if it is pre-recorded. Just give them more to their speeches at least.
It would be cooler as a more retrospective event rather than a day to make announcements of new games.
I don’t understand this logic.
The whole point is it being a live event
118 million of people who feed doritos pope’s ego.
I liked the event. It gets better every year, and that orchestra is my highlight tbh. I can see previews anywhere but music performances from video games are few and far in between.
