Fire Emblem Engage gets special one year anniversary art

It is hard to believe that Fire Emblem Engage is currently celebrating its first anniversary, and to commemorate it, character designer Mike Pikazo has drawn an impressive new image of the spicy food-loving Veyle. Mr. Pikazo says that he is immensely happy that so many people have played Fire Emblem Engage and has thanked the fans of the long-running franchise for their support.

  1. Now that I’ve had a year to think on it, I believe that I can say that while engage was lacking in terms of plot and character interaction (as well as shipping), it still did some things right: the combat was a major improvement (even if there were a few flaws), and I actually loved the art style a lot more than the one from three houses.

  2. “Spicy food-loving” is about as deep as characters get in this game, too.

Hands-down, FE:E was my biggest entertainment disappointment of 2023. They clearly put a lot of effort into the graphics and tactical level design, but then … what … turned the entire narrative design over to a high school intern as a weekend project?
