Leaker Necro, who has a variable track record when it comes to Nintendo leaks, has claimed that the next big Donkey Kong game won’t be part of the beloved Donkey Kong Country franchise. There were rumours a while ago that Nintendo EAD was working on a 2.5D/3D Donkey Kong game, but nothing so far has come into fruition on that one. The next confirmed Donkey Kong game is the delightful Mario vs Donkey Kong which comes out next month.

Can they at least have Candy Kong be playable? She’s Donkey Kongs love interest, and I don’t think she’s every been playable in anything, Donkey Kong games or otherwise.

Not part of the Country series, in other words it’s a DK game but not a continuation of the country series like DK jungle beat was…smh.

As long as they don’t treat the other Kongs like they don’t exist, I’m ok with this. I don’t want them going back to the era where they pretended DK didn’t have his crew, and it would be nice to see the Kremlings get some love again too

They are going to mess up this franchise. Trying something new on a franchise they don’t constantly work on is a bad idea. Try that concept on Zelda and Mario.
