The Pokemon Company has reportedly listened to Scarlet & Violet criticism

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games

To say that Pokémon Scarlet & Violet released in an unsatisfactory state would be a huge understatement. Players flocked to social media at launch to showcase a range of unfortunate glitches in the game, leaving fans angry with developer Game Freak for pushing out the release before it was ready. Today, journalist Andy Robinson, commented on social media saying that from what he has heard, The Pokémon Company has taken the response to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet seriously and will be acting on it for future games.

  1. What a coincidence, after the success of Palworld the Pokemon company owns up. Guess i’ll go play Nexomon or some other monster catching game that isn’t Pokemon.

    1. Honestly, if you kept the game or bought the S/V DLC, you don’t have the right to complain because you’re the problem. Stop buying games when they first come out because this is the norm now. Idk why so many people are suprised by this lmao

Companies know they can get away with sending out unfinished products and they’ll keep doing it. It still makes them money in the long run.

You want companies to do better stop buying dlc or whatever trash battle pass they have. Stop being so weak-willed and cave to FOMO to play the latest game that comes out.
Palworld is still in beta and people love the game to bits which I find ironic considering that’s “unfinished” but guess not on the scale of S/V so it’s acceptable.
Indie team or not, hold all of them to the same level of standards/professionalism or shut up.

      1. OR you can realize that all those people who complain about it online, are actually a minority. A lot of the people who have actually bought these games, don’t really give a shit about all this discourse. They buy the game, play it, then move on. Ever notice how Hogwart’s Legacy sold well, deapite the so called boycott? Prime example of that.

      2. I honestly have had no issues with what others are experiencing so I cannot relate unfortunately. I do hope the games get better in the future for everyone but I will just say if I do want to buy the next Pokémon game then I will do so no matter if you or anyone likes it or not. I just think you expect way too much than what you are wanting like waaay too much with it being a Nintendo product. It’s a game franchise I enjoy and no amount of trash talk will make me change my mind otherwise.

      3. While this is true, keeping it does nothing to/for anyone? What am I gonna do? Sell back my $65 game for $15? Just because it was my last Pokemon game doesn’t mean I’m supporting them by letting it collect dust.

      4. This makes no sense. Like, at all. You have no right to complain about a product you bought? What do you think reviews are for? They’re to give a company feedback on the product so they CAN do better next time. If you didn’t buy the game, you have no right to complain because you didn’t experience what the product has to offer.

    2. Yes, because Arceus was freakin good! Thats why! SV was not..it was ****! I mean from the get go it was complete garbage. I have no idea how and why they managed to go from Arceus to that pile of fail..why not continue with and build on the Arceus concept. Sure Arceus had it’s flaws, but overall it was a good game. That is why people went and bought S & V, because at least I expectes it to be just as good, or better.

  2. Cause it trash them games will never be better than 1gen 2nd-gen 3rd-gen today’s pokémon games can go in the trash or get sold well I can say for the switch is pokémon soward and shield was the 2 best pokémon they got on their I been playing pokémon damnear my whole life there some great pokémon games and there are downgrade pokémon games yall can tell when they took they time and the 1s that they rushed so the company can hurry up get paid it’s seems like now they don’t take the time to invest money into their pokémon games these games went through a lot game freak is the best production that developed the best pokémon games ever played.

      1. As disappointed as I am with certain parts of Scarlet/Violet, Sonic 2006 is much worse, while Forces is at the least, insulting.

      2. Bro, comparing S/V to Sonic ’06 & Forces is too much of a stretch — at least SEGA TRIED with those games. The Pokémon Company (starting from Gen 7 anyway) put little to no effort in their games.

      1. Except the “remakes” of BDSP actually just copied D/P, instead of using the superior version, Platinum, which fixed a lot of the issues.

  3. Yeah whatever, they said the same bullshit for sword and shield, I’m not believing anything until I see some proper results.

  4. The game has not fully redeemed itself after updating the entire game to fix massive bug fixes and low frame rates which it still doesn’t fix the entire issue. Let’s all hope the next gen game or remake won’t disappoint us once we see the proper results to prove it from GameFreak.

  5. On a completely unrelated note, I hope they bring back Pokémon Colosseum at some point. That game had a killer soundtrack.

  6. Good Pokemon game, huh? Let me guess. The water starter is yet another bird, the fire starter has nothing to do with the Chinese zodiac whatsoever, the grass starter is who cares, the only returning Pokemon in the base game is the Charmander line, they get Ash’s name wrong for the infinitieth time, “””Reds””” mouth is sewn to the butt of Serena or Y or whatever they call her, Jessie grows an extra pair of arms and mouth, they kill off Misty, and they bring back the Bulbasaur line and Squirtles lifeless body in the DLC only to canonize Venustoise and no other fusions involving the Kanto starters.

    1. There’s a difference between being critical and sounding like an unhinged preteen. Lay off whatever it is you’re smokin bud.

  7. Too late Nintendo, the only reason i bought a switch was for pokemon and you ruined it, trading it in for a Xbox series was the best decision i ever made 🫡

      1. My brother bought a Series S last year but hasn’t played anything with it. I was thinking about borrowing it for a while; which games do you recommend I check out?

          1. Never played an Xbox game, but I’ve got Steam and a PlayStation 4 (barely used outside of Bloodborne and the Dark Souls games). I’m open to anything as long as it’s good

            1. Well, I would definitely start with Grounded and Sea of Thieves. They’re both Multiplayer games, and even with no party of your own, they’re really fun, and the community on both are really nice. They have both come a long way since release day. I would also give the Gears of War series a try. Yeah the older ones are brown and gray, but the story is actually really good. Keeping a long with Gears, if you tactical games, Gears Tactics is something you should try. If your a fan of retro games Rare Replay is on there. So is the New Killer Instinct, and the New Battle toads. If your a fan of Simulators try out Flight Simulator or Forza Motorsports. I swear, Motorsports just keeps getting better and better. If youre more into the arcady racers, Forza Horizons has become the go to racer. Try out Halo Infinite as well, and if you like it give the series a try if you haven’t. Try out the Fable games (don’t start with 3 though lol and Fable 2bis the best) try Hi Fi Rush before it comes to PS5 and Switch lol. If you never got a chance to play Sunset Overdrive, then it’s a MUST, it’s such an amazing game. Try out Pentiment, state of decay, Planet of Lana, and if you can put up with a few videos, Quantum Break is amazing.

  8. Boy, am I glad I didn’t buy this game at launch. The Pokémon Company just proved that they’re treating Game Freak like a pile of shit and yet GF is still getting the blame from people.

Can SEGA just buy out Game Freak already?

    1. Do you mind explaining to me the difference between the companies and their rights to the Pokémon brand? I’ve always been a distant observer of the brand, so I never was able to get a full picture of how the whole thing operates.

      1. If I remember correctly, it’s a situation of whoever owns more of the company’s stock gets to push it around. Nintendo only owns a 1/3rd of Game Freak’s stock while The Pokémon Company owns 2/3rds of it.
