Leakers tease Nintendo Direct for next week

Two video game leakers have stated that there’s a Nintendo Direct presentation planned for next week. The first is Shpeshal Nick who stated it on the Nintendo Prime’s YouTube channel and the second and is reliable leaker Billbil-kun who posted a cryptic message on social media platform X. Nintendo generally holds a Direct in February, so it wouldn’t be too surprising. As to what it will contain, well that will have to stay a surprise unless someone spills the beans. Nintendo hasn’t mentioned a Nintendo Direct, so we will have to see what transpires on that front.

  1. Please please please Switch 2 news of any sort. Even if just teasing a console is releasing this year, with more info later (like they did with Switch when delaying BotW).

Software wise though. Metroid Prime 4, Oracle Remakes, and Star Tropics 3 please

    1. They’ve specifically said during past earnings reports that NO NEW HARDWARE will be unveiled all the way through March 31, 2024, the end of the fiscal year.

It will be revealed on their terms, when they’re ready.

  2. Nintendo direct incoming. New hardware reveal, Metroid prime 4 footage, new 3D Mario reveal and new family sports game all coming late 2024……. Probably not, although can dream

    1. Don’t get your hopes up about a hardware reveal… Nintendo SPECIFICALLY said they’d reveal no new hardware all the way through the end of the fiscal year, that being until March 31, 2024.

        1. Ah so they said “release.” Even so, I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

They’ve never once announced a new platform via Nintendo Direct. They’ve announced revisions or iterations, but never a new platform itself.

The Switch itself was unveiled in its own separate video, while the Switch Lite was unveiled in a later Direct. If they’re going to announce an entirely new platform, Nintendo Direct doesn’t seem like the likely place to do it, and I don’t think they’d do so this early in the year when they’ve still got new games coming to Switch. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled the same strategy they did last time and unveil it in October in a standalone YouTube upload and release it March 2025.

          1. They’ve never announced another platform in a Direct because there’s only been one new platform since Directs started.

            1. Indeed, but my point is that we don’t have a single historical example of a platform being unveiled in a Direct. We do, however, have a historical example of Nintendo unveiling a new platform OUTSIDE of a Direct.

    1. I mean… it’s not difficult to “get right.” They always do a Nintendo Direct in late-January/February, one in June, and one in September.

    1. They like to air Directs on Wednesdays, and next Wednesday will be the 7th. I think it would be very satisfying if we got the next Direct on that day.

      2022: February 9th Direct
      2023: February 8th Direct
      2024: February 7th Direct

  3. Don’t do that, don’t give me hope. No, better yet, DO give me hope. I’ve been bummed out ever since I found out E3 is over, so I’ll take any rumors for Nintendo direct I can get besides indie directs.

  4. I’ll have to wait for either Nintendo or Pyoro to announce this direct before I believe anything concrete, lol

Hopefully we get a Paper Mario: TTYD Remake release date !! Would love another GameCube Remaster to be announced there. Maybe Pokémon Colosseun / Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness? One can dream !!

  5. I think you can absolutely rule out Switch 2. They will want to set up The Switch’s line up of games for the year before they talk about Switch 2 and they will not do both in the same presentation.
And I’m sure there’s a couple of small surprises for the Switch left. Switch 2 news will not come until the new financial year.

  6. Nintendo’s fiscal year ends on March 31st 2024.
They won’t release new hardware, or consider it until after that date.

They may possibly be making a reveal, or hunting at something. All I care about right now is Metroid Prime 4.
