The well respected Nintendo developer Monolith Soft has recently updated its recruitment page stating that it is looking for individuals with experience creating 3D action games. The company has been silent since it released Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and its Expansion Pass which brought a wealth of additional content to the acclaimed JRPG including a new standalone story. Whatever Monolith Soft is working on next, it is certainly something to keep an eye on.
Xenoblade chronicle X 2 or xenoblade chronicle 4 or super mario world chronicle X-2 ?…
New IP
So I gotta ask: does 3D action game also include the jrpg genre like xenoblade, or is it something entirely different?
While RPG is a little broad, when japanese companies say action game they are usually referring to something like Bayonetta. (Could be 3rd or 1st person too)
All right, thank you for clarifying homie 😎
Square Enix deves called Final Fantasy 16 an “action” game when it’s considered an action-rpg. Since this is just about hiring people,I think “action” here just means those experienced with making non-turn based real time battle systems who they will then use to help them with Xenoblade’s unique battle system, but they’ll still call it an RPG when it’s revealed.
I see
What if their Xenoblade game will incorporate a more action oriented combat system.
It is noteworthy that Monolith Soft has employed individuals who have at one time worked on previous modern Sonic Games, specifically Sonic Unleash, Sonic Colors, and Sonic Generations. And since then, they have been instrumental in the development of Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 3.
