Square Enix has revealed at the Tokyo Game Show that there will be an option in Final Fantasy VII: Revelation to automatically boost your character to the recommended level for main story progression, allowing you to skip the open world exploration and grinding etc. This is due to feedback from Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth which will create a more linear experience like the first Final Fantasy VII: Remake for those wanting to avoid the likes of open-world exploration and grinding.

At what point does it stop feeling like an RPG? This reminds of the “invincibility button” in the FF7 re-release on PS4 (not the remake). It’s honestly the reason I preferred the original PS3 emulation. Hope this feature can be permanently disabled at the outset?
Just don’t use it. I like this feature, sadly I don’t have 40 let alone 100+ to enjoy games like I used to. My back log is serious and I was able to get through intergrade and rebirth with these features. I already completed FF7 back in the day so it has been nice to have the extra perspective and details from more powerful hardware
I understand, defeats some of the purpose and feel of the game, but on the other hand, sometimes people are busy, have families, have more games to play.
I can’t spend 100+hours on every game i own. sometimes you just want to advance in the story a little bit.
I used that feature on Rebirth, and turn it of for every boss battle so i can have some challenge form time to time.
The option should be there for those who need it, that’s all.
(sorry about the spelling, im on a phone right now)
I personally will not use this but understand how this helps a large portion of people experience the whole game they otherwise might not have time for. It’s just as easy to not use this feature as it is to use it.
