Rumour: Xbox will apparently talk in the Spring about certain games going multi-platform

It would seem as though the team at Xbox are planning to make certain first party games multiplatform. We heard previously that both Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves could be coming to rival platforms. Now a Zenimax employee has said that Xbox director, Sarah Bond, will speak publicly in the Spring about the Redmond company’s change in strategy regarding its first party games going forward. It is not clear how many Xbox games will appear on rival platforms such as the Nintendo Switch, but it’s certainly going to be interesting.

  1. Really? Like no one seen this coming. Microsoft is a maker of software and will push more towards pc apps and games. I would expect within the next 2-3 gen consoles that they will exit that market. There is more money to be had on the software side of it all and they know it. This is exactly why they have made a good relationship with Nintendo. They have tried to work with Sony but Sony is stupid and has been killing their brand slowly since PS4.
Microsoft will make their first party games for PC and for console they will work with Nintendo because they both are literally two different types of companies.

    1. Yeah, I think so too.
Eventually you’ll be able to play the big blockbuster games just through an app on your tv or device.
Possibly not a bad thing and also my ps5 looks like the Sydney opera house stuck on my shelf anyway. I like it, but I don’t like the look of it

    2. I’m a Xbox (and Switch) owner and yeah I agree, especially since it seams Xbox is going to be taking off the disc drive from their console next gen. That’s one of the biggest difference between a console and PC. So I think I might hop off to PC for AAA games if there’s no option of a disc drive.

An “all digital” console, is kinda useless to me, idk if that will be a serious drop off but I feel like it will have an effect
