EVO hopeful that Nintendo will eventually let Smash Bros return

The fighting games roster has been announced for EVO this year and there’s a wealth of games included however Super Smash Bros remains off the roster. Nintendo pulled Smash out of EVO 2022 and hasn’t returned since. However, EVO General Manager Rick Thiher, says he remains hopeful saying “Always happy to host Smash. Always happy to engage with that community.” Here’s a look at the the various games which will be part of EVO 24:

  • Street Fighter 6
  • Mortal Kombat 1
  • Tekken 8
  • Guilty Gear Strive
  • Granblue Versus Rising
  • Under Night In-Birth [Sys:Celes]
  • The King of Fighters XV
  • Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

    1. Nah, it has to do with Nintendo partnership with Panda Global. And I’m sure ALL those sexual allegations with Evo and the Smash community didn’t help them.

    1. Well because they have partner with Panda Global for their future Smash Tournaments. And also, they’re already working with Sony. It doesn’t make any sense for them to work with them but also pull smash away from Evo because of Sony.
