Nintendo Partner Direct happening February 21st

For days now, there have been rumors that Nintendo would be having a Partner Direct very soon. These presentations are usually focused more on third-parties, so Nintendo’s first-party games are unlikely to make much of an appearance, if at all, and expectations should be kept rather low.

Well, it is official now. Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase for February 21st at 9am Eastern Time. It will be “around 25 minutes” and it will have info on “Switch games coming in the first half of 2024 from our publishing and development partners”. You can see the announcement tweet down below.

FINALLY. I’m just happy that this will finally end the cycle of Direct rumors/speculation (for now). Hope it’s a good one!! Personally I’d love a remake of Bravely Default + Second, but I’m honestly open for anything

    1. Chrono trigger is one of those games that cannot be any more perfect than it is. A remake would just be a lesser experience. Mark my words.

      1. Shut up you dweeb. You’ll play it either way because you’re a typical nintendo manchild and you always replay the same games

  2. Seeing the people complaining about this only being a partner direct on social media is a bit concerning. They do play more than just the first party Nintendo games, right?

    1. They likely do play more than just first party Nintendo games, just not on the Switch.
People buy Nintendo hardware for Nintendo games for the most part, it’s not really any wonder why partner directs don’t appeal to a lot of people.

      1. Not all switch owners are like you. Dont generalize. You and these other soft manchildren are the ones obsessed with the company, dont project

        1. Holy, can you shut up with the same reply to every comment. “Manchild this! Manchild that!” grow up. Or at least chill out.

        2. I was talking specifically about the people complaining, not about the fanbase as a whole. However, if we wanna talk about projecting, you seem to love throwing around the word manchild a lot. Curious, why do you think that is?

    2. I think those people are just still salty over the 2020 Partner Showcases where they had stuff like the WWE game. Those Directs were abysmal, and so their memory of what a Partner Showcase can show is tainted by them.

I remember we got a great Partner Showcase during E3 a couple years ago, and that’s the way I’m hoping this upcoming will be like. Just some good games even if they’re not necessarily exclusive to the Nintendo Switch

      1. I think the one from a couple years ago was the last one we got. It was the was where they announced a port of Persona 4 Golden, and I was waiting for it to come to actual consoles for ages until that point. The new Harvestella and Story of Seasons also looked pretty good. I remember that showcase having a lukewarm reception because of the amount of RPG’s and farming Sims that were announced though.

    3. I do understand that with the current state of the Switch it would be nice to see how Nintendo themselves think about this year and the fate of the console. It would feel more right if they had a regular direct first and a partner or indie direct later.

But then again back in the 90ies the only videochannel Nintendo would communicate with their fans was that N64 VHS tape, which was DOPE but nothing to keep you waitinng for the next one.

  3. I feel like this is gonna be a pretty weird year for Nintendo, a quick reminder that after princess peach showtime releases next month there will be only two first party games left with both of them being remasters meaning Nintendo can always shadow drop trailers and release dates for them, I feel like we’re going to be facing a dry half for games until fall.

    1. Yeah it is looking pretty dry, but it’s blatantly obvious Nintendo are working on their next big games for the switch successor, I would say there will be some sort of direct soon and all will be revealed with a big game releasing with launch sometime between sept and dec.
what you’ve got to remember is switch sales are falling more now, but once they reveal the successor they are going to plummet and have to be reduced in price.
      That’s my theory anyway

        1. I’ve been plowing through Mario vs. Donkey Kong about to finish the plus levels heading to the expert levels, but I still haven’t finished Another Code, and I plan to play Side Order as soon as it drops, though honestly, I never got to the Octo Expansion or the single player campaign in Splatoon 3 and I want to play those too. Hopefully, I’ll be set before Princess Peach Showtime gets here.

        2. AJ trilogy has been taking up my time lately too. It’s actually interesting going through the cases again since it’s been years, so I’ve forgotten a lot of details. There’s also Persona 3 Reload along with some 2023 games I haven’t gotten around to, so I’ll be busy for a while.

        3. Yeah I’m planning on getting Princess Peach Showtime game on my Switch and I’m thinking that Nintendo is gonna show off a few of their projects that was made by them. Might get a little more Nintendo Switch games this year. But, not much for at least.

  4. Good things come to those who wait… but please stop saying that it was delayed because of Microsoft, it’s completely stupid….
