The PS2 Easly Beats the Switch.Even the Nintendo DS Beats the switch The Switch is a glorified game remake console nothing more. Doesn’t even have its own game library. The Ds is nintendos best selling game system and it hasn’t even sold more than the PS2. With the switch two or whatever nintendo calls it comes out the switch sales will end. I’ll get a Switch when the price drops to dirt cheap just so I can have one in my collection to collect dust for the rest of eternity while I continue to play my 3ds with its godly game library…

Nintendo Is remaking all the classics on the Switch since it has no actual game library of its own so who’s the cheater. Atleast the PS2 along with every other console had there own game library plus shared between each other. The switch is just a glorified game remake console at this point. I doubt the switch sold as many units as they claim this is coming from a nintendo console fan. I still don’t have a switch because it’s not worth the $300+ price tag. I still believe the 3ds has sold more units than the peace of shit switch. When the price drops I’ll buy one so it can collect dust for the rest of its miserable life cycle and continue playing my 3ds…

      1. It has a bunch of timeless classics, but there was a lot of people buying it because it was a cheap DVD player. People on a certain board will try to use historical revisionism by saying it had little to no impact on the sales when a bunch of normies had one while having no actual games for it.

        1. I bought it because it was also a dvd player. I also bought the PS5 because is also a Blu-ray player. Would I have bought one if it didn’t;t have that functionality… maybe, but probably on eBay or off a mate.

        2. I still remember when it was the cheapest DVD player at launch and then the cheapest DVD player at $99 a few years after the PS3 came out. Not only that, but they were so shoddy that everyone I know had gone through at least 3f them, but didn’t complained because they were so cheap compared to other DVD players.

  1. The ps2 sold because it was a cheap DVD player and it had almost no competition for 1 year and a half (the dreamcast was already out of the race, thanks sega…) The first ps2 games were disgusting and didn’t justify its purchase, fortunately for sony that nintendo and microsoft were late at the time… (and thank you Square Soft and its exclusives)

  2. Who is still buying the PS2 that doesn’t already own it, i doubt they still manufacture and sell new PS2’S they discontinued the PS4 when the PS5 released I’d be surprised if they still manufacture the PS2

  3. The ps3 was a cheaper blu ray player and it only marginally helped its sales. Why can’t we just give credit where credit is due. The PS2 was an incredible system, that doesn’t at all take away from the success of the switch wich is also an incredible system

    1. The ps2 is considered one of the greatest consoles ever made. The credit is given, if anything, that DVD player get too much credit. what’s annoying is that an actual dedicated console that doesn’t sell units on a second gimmick is about to beat it, and they are so hellbent in not letting that thing get beaten that they’re coming out with BS. They stopped production of this thing 11 years ago, and they expect us to believe thats it’s sold 1 million units since the last official count but they (Sony who never shuts up about numbers) hadn’t mentioned anything?

What console has Nintendo made that has sold almost as many units as the PS2…? The only console I can actually see is the 3ds but is its aways away from that. Let me guess you are one of those people who actually believe the so called numbers for the switch sales. That console is a pile if shit. It has barely any games worth buying for it. Nintendo can’t even make new games for the console that they have to keep remaking classics for it. Either nintendo are lying about the switch sales or there’s way more dumb people than I thought…

A quick search shows the PS2 is way ahead of the piece of shit switch. The Nintendo DS is nintendos best selling game system right behind the PS2 and its also dicontinued. The switch has quite aways to go. But will never make it with the new console from Nintendo on the way. Correction the PS2 sold So many unit because it was synonymous with the Best selling game of all time GTA San Andeas. The switch is a glorified game remaking piece of shit that will always be overshadowed but the DS and 3ds line up the two systems that have the largest game library to date. Oh did mention the switch is a piece of shit…

  4. This comment section is why people tell you not to read them. Toxic as hell. PS2 and Switch, you are both pretty girls, ok? Never had a PS2 as I wasn’t into PS then, was a bit of a Nintendo fanboy but it did have some classics. The DVD thing would absolutely have helped it sold units but so what? That’s part if what it could do
