Midori: Nintendo game codenamed Banquet in the works, being developed by NDcube & SmileBoom

There is rarely a day that goes by now without some new tidbit of information being shared by the leaker Midori on her Twitter account. When there isn’t information in regards to SEGA and Atlus, she’s talking about something going on at Nintendo. Her track record with the stuff she’s posted has been perfect so far.

Well, she’s got yet more information to share. According to Midori, there is a game in development at Nintendo with the codename Banquet. Little is known about the title, but she says that it “appears to be in development by NDcube and a developer known as SmileBoom”. Her tweets about the matter are down below.

  1. Best case scenario: It’s a title about an existing IP but involving cooking.
Worst case scenario: It’s the next Nintendo system’s obligatory new IP that will waste a character slot in a future Super smash bros title.

    1. “I don’t want to experience new characters and stories cause I need my character in smash” if you are older than 16 please I beg you to grow up

  2. NDCube does the Mario Party games… so it’s most like the rumored Mario Party for the switch coming this year.

  3. Smileboom is an “old-fashioned” RPG developer, I don’t see at all what its association with NDcube could bring….And even less the connection with the code name

    1. Well, could be a RPG styled Party Game featuring Mario Characters in RPG inspired designs like Mario in a Knight Outfit, Peach in like a Ninja outfit and so on, maybe could have some cool mini games like protecting a castle from Bowser’s Bob-ombs by flinging stuff at them.

      You never know

    1. Their last 2 games were an rpg pc game from 2022 called “RPG Developer Bakin” that allows you to create your own rpgs inspired by the world.

The other game is from 2021 and was released for the Switch, called “Shinya Ichizoku The Battle for Hokkaido’s Delicious Foods”, a game where, as they say: “This is a competitive action game in which players travel around Hokkaido to confront aliens in order to protect Hokkaido, Japan’s proud gastronomic kingdom.”

      Notice the word “gastronomic”.

So, due to their track record, maybe they are developing a new Mario Party or even a Mario Party Maker (combining the ideas of their 2 latest games)? Who knows.
