Midori: SEGA’s current plan is to make games like Persona & Sonic annual franchises through remakes, DLC, etc

Proven SEGA Atlus leaker Midori has provided further insight into SEGA‘s upcoming plans for some of its biggest video game franchises such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Like a Dragon and Persona. The leaker says that the company plans to do it by releasing new titles, remakes and remasters, DLC expansions and other media. As always we will have to wait and see what happens with this.

  1. I know remakes are way too oversaturated and Persona 4 Golden is already a deluxe port that already made it to Steam, but truth be told, I’m crossing my fingers for that Persona 4 remake to hit Steam, lol.

    1. I’d much rather Persona 1 and the Persona 2 duology got remakes instead tbh, Persona 4 has been milked dry at this point and there’s very little a remake could add beyond graphical updates and P3R’s gameplay improvements.

      1. Nah, I want persona 4 remake with palaces designed dungeons, you had your turn persona 3 fans now it’s ours

        1. Who mentioned Persona 3? I specifically said I wanted Persona 1 and 2 remakes, both of which deserve remakes FAR more than Persona 4 does.

And the likelihood of ATLUS making full P5-esque dungeons for a potential Persona 4 remake is somewhere between paper-thin and non-existent. They’ll just do what that did with Tartarus in P3R and give the original dungeons a bit of a face lift.

Persona 4 has already had many “turns” over the years, to the point where my enjoyment of it has suffered due to over exposure (similarly to what’s happening to P5 recently). We really don’t need yet another Persona 4 title, it’s time to let the lesser-known Persona titles to have their day in the sun.

  2. Uhhhh… There’s a limit on how many remakes you can develop. Persona has only 5 mainline games. Shin Megami Tensei is the same, and I don’t think their spin-offs would sell that well. Yakuza already has remakes of 1 and 2. This really feels like a short-term commitment.
