Toyo Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda has recently spoken about the Nintendo Switch 2 and is of the opinion that it will be released during the first half of 2025 and will likely be priced at under $499.99. Yasuda expects it to be roughly as powerful as Sony’s PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro system. Nintendo has yet to reveal further details on the successor to the popular Nintendo Switch system, though has said that it will share further details about it before the end of March 2025.

Because it’s Nintendo, so be realistic and temper your expectations. I don’t mean that it a bad way, but at the same time, being unrealistic only leads to self imposed letdowns.
Cause it’s going to be “underpowered”, the target audience of Nintendo is mainly kids, kids will ask for Christmas the new Nintendo console and if the price is very high, there are going to be less parent paying that much. Worry not though, first party nintendo games will look absolutely gorgeous cause they know how to use their hardware at its fullest.
Actually your incorrect. It’s only target for many kids, teen young and older people who are gamers at any age. It helps to increase the sales rate for the system in market value. Nintendo is going at its fullest for first party games launch.
Wiius first party games looked good… Didn’t mean anything… Switch was just a port machine and 3rd party games and even ports looked awful…bigger 3rd party games skipped the system completely.. we are already 4 years into the PS5…at least future proof the system…PS4 levels is too far behind pro barely..needs to be atleast almost a 5

A handheld with the power of the PS4 or especially the PS4 Pro wouldn’t be particularly underpowered.
Especially knowing that many PS5/Xbox Series games are still releasing on PS4/Xbox One. Handheld PS4 Pro sounds pretty cool.
One thing I’m not looking forward to is how much larger the new Switch will be. I liked the form factor of the Nintendo DS Lite/DSi/3DS because it was small and didn’t cramp my hands. I can’t really play the Switch for too long holding it because I probably have some form of arthritus or carpel tunnel, so I have to find a hard surface to place it on. In a way I still enjoy gaming on a handheld, so I’m attached to playing it that way. I do like the TV mode, but since I wear glasses in order to see things far away, I have to always be wearing glasses when I put it on there. Regardless, I will still enjoy whatever Nintendo puts out. Not sure if I will get the new Switch since it will probably have a high price point compared OG Switch, but we will see.
As of now give it another yeah…. Then going into the switch 2’s lifecycle…. Yeah…nah ppl said a PS3 wiiu portable was fine… The third part games are skipping it…and current gen games coming to it look very muddled

Exactly. It’s hard to compare modern graphic pipelines using the latest Nvidia SoC to an aging one like the PS4. If I want to make a bold prediction with the help of DLSS 3.x and Frame Generation The Switch 2 will be basically the same to Xbox Series S when it’s docked and just above PS4 when in handheld form.
I agree !! Considering what Nintendo is able to do with the current switch ( and many other game developers too ) , this should be powerful enough to make great looking / performing games … and it is, as you say a handheld too, so you’re right it’s powerful enough !! I say bring it on !

Unless Nintendo for some reason wants to sell this at a huge loss, amount of power will depend on both of these things.
Not to mention a terrible battery life if it’s a power house.

Tell people, absolutely nothing says that all this is true: whether it’s in terms of price, portable mode (or not) or even performance… So wait for the official announcement before speculating…
And get it into your head once and for all that all these analysts don’t know any more than we do, they try to give themselves a publicity stunt and they will blame Nintendo with nutty excuses if they are wrong
