Update: Now confirmed! Nintendo Partner Direct and Indie World show tomorrow.
Reliable video game laker NateDrake has said on the Famiboard forums that he is expecting a Nintendo Direct to be announced this week. It is not clear what kind of Nintendo Direct he is referring to. It could be a first party-themed Nintendo Direct or a Partner Direct or a Mini Direct, or something else, like we saw with the recent Nintendo Museum Direct. Either way, we will have to wait and see if anything transpires.
NateDrake: “We will see Nintendo coverage soon. Whether said coverage is linked to a Direct or not I cannot be sure based on the expected timeline.”
Question: “Do you have any expectations for what it might be? Or how are you personally setting your expectations as to not expect too much?”
NateDrake: “My expectation is a Direct.”
I guess this will be more of a wait and see moment, I feel like if we get one this week Nintendo would probably gonna pull a indie on us, if it ends up being a general I honestly would be fully shocked and feel like it might have something to do with the new console announcement approaching soon, as the last general direct in August we got was in 2015 and that ended up being the last 3ds focus direct.

Maybe with online rumours that ps5 pro/switch successors are about to start mass production Nintendo may want to shed more info on the next console before even more leaks start to appear in this phase.
Or it could be a direct for echoes of wisdom possibly, I think there was a Mario wonder direct last aug.
Who knows ….
