Japan: Nintendo has now run out of replacement parts for New Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo has confirmed this morning that it has officially ran out of supplies for replacement parts for the New Nintendo 3DS series of models and therefore they will no longer be accepting repairs for the system in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Kyoto-based video game company previously said that this would be the case and that repairs would eventually cease. The European and American branches of the company still seem to be accepting repairs.

“As we have run out of parts necessary for repairs, we have stopped accepting repairs for the New Nintendo 3DS system [KTR-001] as of August 28, 2024.”

Thanks to Greatsong1 for sending in the news tip!

  1. It was bound to happen eventually. I’m just surprised it happened already- I thought something that sold 76 million units would have had a few more spare parts sitting around.

Take very good care of your devices, everyone.
