Play Dragon Quest HD-2D remakes in chronological order and there will be a surprise at the end

Dragon Quest series’ creator Yuji Horii has stated that if fans play the upcoming Dragon Quest HD-2D remakes in chronological order then they will be treated to a new surprise which we haven’t seen before. Horii wouldn’t go into any further details as to what players who accomplish the task should expect. Dragon Quest III was a prequel story, so in terms of chronology, the titles are ordered Dragon Quest III, Dragon Quest 1 and finally Dragon Quest II. Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake launches first and is due out on 14th November.

  1. I’m very curious at how they are going to handle the 1 Remake. I have been on a DQ kick lately after finally finishing 11, and went back and played 1 and 2 for the first time in preparation for 3. 1 is SO short and 85% of the game is just grinding. Curious to see how they’ll modernize this archaic system of a one person “party” fighting one enemy over and over until you get good enough gear to go to the next place.

  2. One of two guesses:
Probably: 1) trailer or tease for the Zenithia trilogy getting the same treatment
Unlikely: 2) trailer or tease for DQ12
