This year has not been a good one for the video gaming industry. Despite lots of games being released, including Switch games, there has been just as many employees that were let go. Many studios have also been closed. So, it’s not surprising that there has been some worries from fans that Nintendo may go down a similar path. So far, that hasn’t really happened.

Nevertheless, rumors that Nintendo was laying off employees from Mario Club Co., Ltd, a Nintendo subsidiary, didn’t help matters. Fortunately, the company has put those rumors to rest. A spokesperson for Nintendo recently sent a statement to Eurogamer, where they say that “we have confirmed with Mario Club Co., Ltd. that the rumored information in the report is untrue”.

  1. I MISS YOU IWATA EVERYDAY MY MAN :(

remember when iwata cut his salary so he wouldn’t lay off people during the failure of the wii u? glad that spirit is still alive even after his death

    1. Now that you mention Iwata, it was disgusting how some people on internet were asking for his head during those difficult times, glad some of his teachings still live.

  2. Meanwhile at Sony, they fail their own developers then fire them. Nintendo will forever be GOAT in terms of company culture and respecting employees.
