Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu teaming up for “dark fantasy” game

Hironobu Sakaguchi, who is the head of Mistwalker and the main creator behind Final Fantasy, has revealed that he is once again teaming up with famed JRPG composer, Nobuo Uematsu, for a brand new game. The game, which has yet to be named, is described as a “dark fantasy” game. It is not clear what the new game is, though it could well be a sequel to the upcoming Fantasian: Neo Dimension. Mistwalker recently filed a new trademark for something called Fantasian Dark Edge. Fantasian: Neo Dimension launches on Nintendo Switch in December.

  1. So glad to see the father of Final Fantasy get some much deserved spotlight for current and future RPG projects.

  2. Really wanted a switch remastered version of the Last Story.
2 games stuck on the wii that deserved a chance they never got, Last Story and Pandora’s Tower.
Just thinking about how those games was done dirty, especially in the US due to both games being shadow dropped at the tail end of the wiis’ life in the west, irks me every time I think about it.

    1. Remasters for The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower would be amazing! Those games definitely need to be resurrected. and I wouldn’t mind those games developing into franchises of their own.

  3. Lost all respect I had for Hironobu Sakaguchi when he (probably desperate for money at this point) started pretending ffxivarr+ was a great game because SquareEnix paid him to play it to try to increase ffxivarr+ paid subscribers, the game is not good/fun at all which means less and less play it as time passes.
