Zelda VA would love to see Zelda playable in an open-world game

Patricia Summersett is known for being the voice of Zelda in Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Zelda, unfortunately, wasn’t playable in any of those games, except Age of Calamity. However, Zelda became playable in Echoes of Wisdom. So, it’s not surprising that Summersett was asked about the matter very recently.

You see, Summersett attended Golden Joystick Awards last week. There, GamesRadar asked if she’d be interested in Zelda being playable in an open-world Zelda game as well. Summersett said that “I mean, that’d be amazing, wouldn’t it? I’m so happy for the fandom that they got Echoes of Wisdom, of course, but I mean, yeah, there can always be more playable Zelda as far as I’m concerned”.

She wasn’t playable in BotW and TotK but was playable in Age of Calamity. Just a correction. 👍

  2. I would definitely like a BotW/TotK style open world game with Zelda as a playable character. Zelda wasn’t really playable in a few spin offs and the Zelda Musou titles which counts as main.

  3. I know many old and new Zelda fans would love to see that. I mean, I’m not s fan of the franchise honestly, I got both games because of the open world aspects and the weapon selections. That’s why. I’m being honest.

  4. Come to think of it, though… I’d be surprised if Nintendo didn’t change voice actors for a new Princess Zelda. Aren’t there always changes to her personality, from one incarnation to the next? Shouldn’t her voice also change?

Interesting to think how that might apply to Link as well, were he to begin speaking.

  5. Me too, but can’t both Zela AND Link be playable this time? Why does there always have to be a catch?
Spirit tracks: You play as Zeldas soul.
    Hyrule Warriors: Not canon.
Echoes of wisdom: You start off as Link, but then he needs rescuing.
Also, have them both be adults; no more kid Link. I always preferred tall male voice Link over short female voice Link. If you have to cater to the five people who still prefer kid Link, how about both, like the N64 era? And have Link start off with his traditional green cap and green tunic. Outfits like the flame breaker set and the zora set are awesome, so you don’t have to worry about players not using them. And have Zelda be feminine. Totk is a masterpiece, and I still play it, but it made Zelda too manly-I’m not even referring to the plot twist-and botw Zelda was too manly as it is even in her royal attire. I’m not asking her to go full Hyrule warriors, but could you at least give her long hair, lipstick, and, oh I don’t know, a dress? Do you want the wrong Zelda in smash again?

  6. Sorry but her voice acting ain’t it. Her voice is so monotone throughout the whole game and gets annoying after a while. I’d be ok with a VA change next game, and give link some voice lines, couldn’t hurt imo.

    1. You see any Nintendo devs here? No? You see someone harassing people? Yeah, THAT PERSON IS YOU HARASSING BLAH, LEAVE MY MAN ALONE DUDE

  7. Before or after she receives a major attitude adjustment (assuming this is the same Zelda she has voiced for two or three games)?
