Pocket Pair, the developers of Palworld, are dealing with a patent lawsuit from Nintendo that was filed earlier this year. However, that isn’t stopping them from continuing to support the game while the situation plays out in court. Palworld is getting updates. That said, a new update that was released for Palworld very recently is particularly interesting.
The update removes Pal Sphere summons. If you recall, Nintendo has a patent for the way you catch creatures, including the use of a capture item by throwing it, in Pokemon Legends Arceus. Palworld had implemented a similar method for summoning Pals. Now, with the update, characters no longer throw a Pal Sphere to summon Pals. They just hold out the Pal Sphere and their Pal will appear next to them. The characters still catch Pals by throwing Pal Spheres at them.

Oh my god this is so stupid, this is some mafia shit by nintendo
XD
If you say so, pal…
XD
A corporation bootlicker…
I think they should have just become partners with each other. That way nothing would be gone from the game and at the same time still make pokémon look good
Palworld doesn’t look good, it looks like some unity assets mashed together
Looks better than the newest Pokémon though which is riddled with graphic bugs
oh yeah absolutely, what im saying is that they both look like shit lol, imagine a pokèmon game developed by atlus
Yeah but at the end of the day Nintendo should see Palworld as a wake up call they should go back and realise that they need to make the next Pokémon games more like arceus rather than pushing the limits of the switch with a complete open world
oh i wish they would tom, i wish they would… Game Freak should just ask Nintendo’s main studio to develop their mainline games, have you seen how gorgeous mario odissey looks to this day? that came out in 2017.
But they not worried about a game called Tem. Tem. That is Pokemon made over
I’m waiting for the next content update that adds a new island and hopefully new crafting items and pals, it supposedly releases sometime in December but who knows. I’m just assuming that if they add new crafting items they increase the lvl cap as well.
This is stupid. Nintendo really needs to pick their battles better. This is one of the many things they need to drop. I’m tired of all these petty lawsuits.
When are they going to announce a Switch port?
when theres not beef with nintendo?
Things are about to go down.
This update shows Pocket Pair’s commitment to adapting Palworld while navigating legal challenges—smart move!
