Yes, it has unsurprisingly happened again. Another Switch 2 rumor has surfaced online, and it is another rumor from someone with a history of leaking announcements before they had officially happened. However, if this were to end up being true, it would result in a lot of different things relating to the Switch 2 being leaked in advance.
The latest rumor comes from Average Lucia Fanatic. If you don’t know who this person is, they have been getting lots of attention in recent months. That’s because Average Lucia Fanatic was the leaker of the reveal dates of the PlayStation 5 Pro and Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo. So, they do have a track record of getting things right.
Assuming that Average Lucia Fanatic is correct, the Switch 2 will be revealed next week, on January 17th. It will launch on March 3rd with a $400 retail price in Canada. Average Lucia Fanatic mentions that the launch lineup will include Mario Kart 9 and Red Dead Redemption 2, but we will also get an announcement trailer for a brand new 3D Mario game. I know this guy has some cred (though from memory I think when he leaked Alarmo’s announcement he actually thought or implied it was Switch 2?), but this seems a little farfetched. Announcement on a Friday…I guess, maybe, but it’s unlike Nintendo. But launch on 3rd March. Obviously that it is a super quick turnaround from announcement to release. And 3rd March, whilst obviously being significant as the 8th anniversary of Switch’s release, is a Monday, which seems a very peculiar day to release.
Mario Kart 9 and RDR2 as launch titles is believable (I assume there are more too!), but I think overall for me this is a little too unlikely for me to believe for now. Obviously that means if he’s correct his credit shoots way up as this stuff would be impossible to guess, but for now I will doubt.

So many assumptions and leaks and rumours, one things for sure it’s anytime now for a reveal so someone’s gona get it right in a minute, I’m thinking next week or the week after on a Thursday. My prediction, could be right, who knows.
One thing I do think though is Mario kart 9 will def not be a launch title unless switch 2 releases near the end of the year. Mario kart 9 ( or whatever it’ll be called ) is DEF gona be a big Christmas, system selling game for Nintendo, 100%.
Launch line up I’m thinking, new 3D Mario game and possibly Metroid prime 4 (crossover), updates for botw, maybe other games in time and some big third party titles such as Elden ring

I’m skeptical but still hoping there’s truth to this. The part that raises my eyebrow however is the purported launch date: March 3rd. Seems a little too specific to launch it exactly 8 years after the original Switch, especially since the 3rd this year is a Monday. I can’t think of any consoles ever launching on a Monday.
