Rumor: multiple insiders doubling down on Switch 2 reveal (update)

Update: Confirmed

Nintendo fans have been waiting all day today with lots of anticipation at the possibility that the company may announce the reveal of the Switch 2 tomorrow. Many insiders, as well as multiple video gaming media outlets, have been saying it. However, the day has come and gone and Nintendo has not mentioned anything.

Despite the continued silence from Nintendo, it seems that not all hope is lost. A couple of insiders are doubling down on the reveal being tomorrow. Jeff Grubb, for example, said on Bluesky that he told people upset at NateTheHate that “it’s not even Thursday”. Meanwhile, NateTheHate himself replied to a fan saying that he’s “on thin ice” by posting a picture implying that he’s not worried at all. He was asked later on if Nintendo may shadow-drop the Switch 2 reveal trailer, and his response was that “that’s a possibility. I don’t think one could dismiss that as an outcome”.

Even the Brazilian journalist that first broke the rumor of the Switch 2 not launching until 2025 still expects a reveal tomorrow. Just like NateTheHate, they posted an image implying that they are not worried about the reveal not happening at all, and told users on Famiboards that “we shall eat soon. Have faith”. Of course, if Nintendo does decide to shadow-drop it, we’ll let you know.

  1. It is 12pm in Kyoto right now, January 16th, if they were going to do something they have about 6 hours, they aren’t doing anything.

    1. Did the rumors ever say it had to be January 16th in Japan? Could be around January 16th 8pm Eastern Time, while it’s January 17th in Japan.

    1. Just pitiful…it’s not Nintendo that’s putting everyone on edge but the “leakers” with their so-called information!
Nintendo has never provided anything precise as to the presentation date and is not obliged to follow these delusions!

  2. I don’t want it announced this week. I move on Saturday and want to be in my new house and have a car so I can pre-order it. Praying it doesn’t get announced tomorrow so I don’t have to wait several months to find one on store shelves.

  3. The “Swiitch wont be announced today march latest heck i’d say even next year the switch currently out still has alot coming to it so what good would announcing the new system do? I’ll tell you absolutly nothing.

  4. It’s was never revealed and I predict Late Feb to Early March for the actual reveal.
Either way, I’m tired and I’m jumping ship to the PC Handhelds

    1. But it’s crazy to say things like that… what would be Nintendo’s interest in delaying the date of the reveal of its machine because of its so-called “leaks”???

There have already been similar cases with live broadcasts, but it has never prevented them from broadcasting them on the desired date…

It’s really nonsense some comments here, especially since you refuse to admit that the fault lies with those idiot leakers and not Nintendo!

  5. these guys has no credibility at all man, LIKE 00000000
these are the same people who assured everyone that an october reveal was going to happen
these are the same people who assured everyone that a reveal before the end of the year happened
and these are the same people who assured everyone that tommorrow was the day of the reveal.
like how many times do these people will spread dumb dates until someone stops believing them?

  6. Who actually believed this nonsense with 16th January reveal? Only fools would fall for it. You know most of these news platforms just copy and paste rumors and pass them off as their own articles, right? There’s literally no solid evidence to support any of those claims.

  7. It’s not going to be announced…. you’re just gonna walk into a retailer and be like OH when did this come out.

  8. Of course it’s real. Hope pre-orders don’t start yet. I’m literally in the middle of moving this week. I want to secure my copy, but if pre-orders start today or tomorrow I’m in trouble here…

    1. You’re probably fine. There’s supposed to be a Direct about the Switch 2 in April, so the console likely won’t release until even later into the year. I doubt preorders would open before the Direct
