At long last, Nintendo has finally announced their next console. It is officially called the Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer confirmed all the leaks we’ve been seeing lately, and it also revealed a brand new Mario Kart game. There wasn’t a lot of footage of the game, but fans picked up an interesting tidbit about one of the game’s racers.
At one point in the Mario Kart footage, we can see Donkey Kong in the background. However, Donkey Kong doesn’t exactly look like the Donkey Kong we’re used to for many year. Fans have noticed that he seems to have the design he had from The Super Mario Bros. Movie. You can see a social media post relaying the news down below.

The chubby and cute designs they gave the Mario bros. reminds me of their designs in Mario Kart Super Circuit. I always liked those designs

The old, Rare design is cooler, but this new design is cuter. It really is just a matter of preference (I think they’re both nice, but I’ll miss the old design for sure)

I may be in the minority, but I never liked Mario Kart 8’s art design. I like my Mario Kart cartoony, and that’s partly why I liked the DLC for 8 Deluxe.

Horrible decision. The previous design is FAR better, this looks like a terrible unfinished mock-up that should be stamped “REJECT”.
