Sales tracking group Circana, which tracks video game software and hardware sales throughout the United States, has revealed the best-selling hardware for 2024. Sony’s PlayStation 5 proved to be the best-selling video game format in both units sold and hardware spending. The Nintendo Switch family of systems were the second best-selling hardware in 2024 with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S consoles at No.3.

Until the day that SONY fixes the placement on those sticks, then that controller that feels like holding 2 corn dogs is beyond broken.
I thought the same. To me the 360 controller was one of the best.
But eventually you get used to the change, the PS5 controller is sublime.
I want to like Xbox. I got a 360 back in the day, played it for a few months and never touched it again. Got a used Xbox One, played for a couple months and never touched it again.
I play Nintendo consoles for the entire life of the system. PlayStation not as often, but often enough to justify me wanting to get both when I can save up enough during a gen. I guess the exclusives on PS generally end up vibing with me more than Xbox.
I DO hope that Xbox live eventually comes to other platforms. There are occasional Xbox games that I would like to play – plus some Bethesda stuff now – but still not enough to justify taking the plunge with an Xbox.
When people complain that the Switch 2 will underperform because its hardware isn’t top-of-the-line I’ll refer them to this article. The general public wants fun games that are accessible, and they don’t give a fuck about the fanciest graphics
