  1. Crossing my fingers every time a new pokèmon game comes out that it’s not going to be straight up garbage. I hope to GOD we will get a good pokèmon game.

    1. That would be nice. Legends Arceus was the first modern Pokemon game to actually show some promise.
I don’t know why, but I just have a bad feeling about this one though. I think it might be the setting.

      1. Yeah, legends was pretty good. But it still has those game freak flaws. It looked terrible for example. I don’t think the new game is going to be scarlet and violet bad, but I’m very skeptical about it, hopefully that extra time is gonna help the game development

  2. I have higher standards for a decent Pokemon game after playing Palworld and seeing the potential that a good monster catching game can achieve.

  3. Lmao at the people who actually think Palworld was “good”. Modern Pokémon is mediocre af, but Palworld is literally shovelware tier trash.
The only reason it gained any notoriety is because of pissy ex-Pokemon fans who wanted to stick it to GameFreak (and utterly failed at it, since Scarlet and Violet are among the best selling games on the Switch).

Palworld doesn’t even come close to matching Pokémon at its prime (gen 4/5) and is still a poor alternative today even despite modern Pokémon’s major dip in quality.

    Like jfc have some standards.

      1. Palworld isn’t better than them though, it died almost instantly on release. When it came to PS5 recently, there was no fanfare. It was a lazy, AI asset-stolen, POS. To say anything good about Palworld is to show your own ignorance regarding what Pokémon is and how no matter what any other developer tries whether it’s Palworld, TemTem, or whatever, GameFreak does an amazing job at capturing the essence we real fans crave. Was Scar/Vi great? No, but was it fun? Absolutely, and that’s all that matters.

Someone above said Legends was ugly…. So? In all my years of gaming I’ve never put graphics above gameplay, no real gamer does, but I’ve also found the same people who do prioritize graphics typically are hypocrites who will play indies and retro titles often.

Whenever I see a Pokémon “fan” complaining about the newest game, it’s always an eye roll for me. The games have been successful since the 90s for one reason and one reason only; they’re fun. If you’re not about having fun then please see yourself out!

        1. I stopped reading after you said it died instantly on release. As of me typing this, there are 87,000 players right now on steam alone. If you’re too biased to acknowledge it’s still very active, then there’s not point reading the rest of your comment.

          1. A quick google search shows that it sold 15 million units. Questionable quality of the game aside, it was a financial success regardless of any of its controversies.

            1. And how is their player base today? How many people are talking it? No one, sales are good but if can’t keep people interested then it wasn’t really a success imo.

                  1. I remember people saying that when the game first released. “Give it a year and it will be dead.”

It’s been a year and I guess they now have to say, “Give it another year and it will be dead.”

        2. I think reality is somewhere between the 2 arguments here. Let’s not pretend Scarlet and Violet were good games just because they sold copies. The bugs in those games were just awful.

And Palworld wasn’t the greatest either, people were just frustrated by the recent short comings from Pokemon, and Palworld (a pretty good game) was refreshing.

I think Palworld needed a little more direction in terms of Narrative. And I think Pokemon needs to take a step back from the gimmicks, so they can focus on the fundamentals.

        3. There is no need for arguing, either of you. Everybody can have their own opinion, and we as human beings should accept that. Let’s try to spread kindness, the world sure needs more of it! Have a wonderful day!

        4. Are you saying in order to be a real fan, you can’t say anything negative about the thing you’re a fan of? Because that sounds exactly like what you’re saying. That’s not just wrong, it’s stupid. If anything, a real fan could, would, AND should criticize the thing they are a fan of. In fact, you basically said something negative yourself about ScarVio when you admitted it wasn’t great, so you’re not a real fan, either, by your logic.

  4. “Pokemon Legends Z-A is totally coming out guys, honest.” Then how about releasing another direct about it instead of being silent for almost a year? Mega Raichu or nothing.

Also, are you sure you have the right source?

    1. Unless they have something significant to show or talk about, they don’t need to remind us of anything. They honestly didn’t even need to tell us of these games being made to begin with til they had a release date set in stone. Honestly, I’d prefer the set in stone relese date to come to fruition before a public reveal since development can easily crash & burn and cause the cancelation of a product.

  5. Pokemon Legends: Arceus was the best modern-day Pokemon game in quite some time so I’m pretty excited to see what they bring to the table with Legends: Z-A. Hopefully this extra development time will mean no glitchy bugs or mediocre graphics. If Skyward Sword HD, a Wii game, can look great there’s really no excuse for Pokemon to look and perform the way Scarlet and Violet did.

  6. This design is very nice and you are definitely a dordle very good graphic designer, I highly appreciate this design of yours and that proves your thinking is very good.
