Pyoro says this week’s rumoured Nintendo Direct not Partner Showcase nor Indie World (Confirmed)

Update: Now confirmed by Nintendo!

Famed Nintendo leaker Pyoro has said on Bluesky that the rumoured upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation this week isn’t a Partner Direct and neither is it an Indie Direct. Nintendo has not announced a Nintendo Direct other than the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, which will focus on software for the upcoming console which is due later this year.

  1. I can’t see Nintendo doing a Switch Direct of any kind one week before the Switch 2 Direct. They like to fan out their announcements and it would take some steam away from the Switch 2 if they did announce things for the first Switch. It just doesn’t make sense to me why they would.

    1. They’re doing it because the Switch 2 isn’t coming until late this year and Switch still needs some releases to keep us going until then.

  2. Everyone thinks that the new switch will be released by this summer. But some have apparently forgotten that in summer, it will always be on a presentation tour so yes, a release for the end of the year does not seem unrealistic to me, which explains the arrival of this “Switch 1” direct

    1. The tours are happening in the Spring.
Most in fact are the same month as the Switch 2 Direct.
So summer release is still viable

    2. Switch*, there’s no such thing as original switch, switch 1, OG switch, etc. If we’re talking about Switch, we know it’s the 2017 console, otherwise we’ll say Switch 2. Any title without a number never needs a number, only stupid people get confused.

    1. Well, Switch 2 will never run next gen games since the games will all be the same generation thereby all being (after launch) current gen. Even though today Switch 2 is in fact next gen, the games never will be and the day S2 launches is the day it becomes current gen. Let’s not have this garbage where we keep calling it “next gen” for 3 fucking years like a bunch of imbeciles from the Microsoft crowd.
