  1. I’m now almost certain the file size has something to do with Mario Kart’s current $80 price tag. I still don’t think it justifies the price though when you compare it to other games that are much larger.

And GameCube Nintendo Classics is only going to keep increasing the more games they add to it.

    1. With the Gamecube you would think surely they will allow you to install/uninstall individual games to keep file size as low as possible. Then you realise it’s Nintendo so probably not!

    2. 32GB Game Cards are really really expensive. Almost certain this is the one being used for MK World since it’s way more than 16GB, so the cost is passed down to the consumers. At least the full game is in the card unlike those “Game Key”…

  2. I’m pleased to see that the file sizes are not completely ballooning. Mario Kart World is the type of game where if it was made by many other publishers it would be ~50-100GB. Nintendo do a good job of keeping things compact, which at least partially makes up for the smaller storage size they provide.

  3. Nvidia is no stranger to it either. thanks to DLSS; no need for a large file size for 4K

On the other hand, the day when there will be native 4K, get ready to have much bigger games. But I doubt that this will happen precisely thanks to DLSS

I will be curious to know the size of star wars outlaw and elden ring, for outlaw, it takes 65 gigas of space and for elden ring minimum 60

  4. I’m fine with the switch 2 console being more expensive. It’ll actually mean I will get it on launch day. Sadly when it comes to games, I think the industry is movings towards that direction. And let me tell you, if you can’t afford a game, oh boy do I have news for you. Absolutely EVERYTHING will become more expensive, maybe it’s time to rethink priorities here :(

  5. There’s no such thing as a Switch 1, so we need to fix that as it takes away from your credibility. Secondly, $80 isn’t expensive. Gaming is cheaper than its ever been and anyone saying otherwise is far too young to remember how expensive games really were. Nevermind all the many flash sales that happen EVERY WEEK across numerous platforms. The only games you should ever pay full price for are exclusives like Mario Kart, as their quality is typically worthy.

I can’t stand entitled casuals, we real gamers need fewer of them

  6. It’s exciting to see the increasing sizes of Nintendo Switch 2 games, especially with Mario Kart World leading the pack at 23.4GB! The evolution in graphics and gameplay really enhances the experience. It reminds me of my own adventures with creative projects, like those I’ve explored at crazy cattle 3d. Can’t wait to see how these games perform!
