The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to be a resounding success in the Land of the Rising Sun with pre-sales reaching historic levels. Some retailers which will have stock of the highly-sought-after console are restricting pre-order sales to those who have spent plenty of money with them in the past, therefore rewarding loyalty. This will come as mixed news to the majority of Japanese consumers looking to get their hands on the platform, which is scheduled to launch worldwide on 5th June.
Japan: Retailers restricting Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders to loyal customers

No wonder… moreover, many people wonder about Nintendo’s real ability to satisfy the demand or even the real stock that Nintendo has of switch 2…
If we follow the trend, we are still talking about more than 2 million pre-orders in Japan alone
Have they really planned so much stock for a global launch?..
I believe that they did just to being more higher demand for their shortrages.
Bases on what you read on this matter, one easily could assume, Nintendo would be able to sell 20 millions Switch 2 at launch, providing they could produce as many.
Nintendo is doing something similar in the states with preorders requiring 12 month NSO and having 50 hours of playtime registered before April 2nd. So people aren’t spinning up new accounts and trying to game the system when direct preorders from Nintendo start on the 8th. Stores putting up some barriers to purchase also helps with the resellers. I don’t see the issue here. Yes, it puts off people who don’t own systems and game, but it’s not like the restrictions are forever… it’s just for preorders. They can still buy after the system comes out.
