It is not long now until we can get our hands on the immensely fun looking Mario Kart World, which is sure to provide endless entertainment. Nintendo has uploaded a new Japanese commercial for the game which seemingly reveals a new mode for the franchise. The new mode depicted in the video shows the Mario Bros. Circuit being played in reverse, which is different from the traditional series staple, Mirror Mode. Nintendo hasn’t announced a reverse mode for Mario Kart World as of yet.

Never a fan of mirror mode, reverse mode isn’t much better. Always hated reverse tracks in racing games, it always messes with my memory.
Yeah, I’ve never been a fan of it either. It messes with muscle memory, and is what I call “artificial difficulty. Reverse tracks are probably better at least.
I just like seeing the banner Trak Oiram, makes me chuckle a bit. Eh. Trak Oiram.
I never actually try reverse mode in any racing games before. Isn’t that bad?
I also avoid mirror mode, and not only because it messes with my memory, but it doesn’t have that much extra to race on the mirrored course. It was fun on Mario Kart 64 as “Extra”, but nothing more.
Literally just keeps the game fresh and interesting
If that’s the case, I imagine every track is already playable in reverse. I bet mirror mode might not be feasible this time around since that might require the game’s entire map being flipped.
The mode I’m waiting to see is a traditional Grand Prix mode. I won’t always want to drive from track to track, especially if the last 3 are only one lap each- that genuinely doesn’t sound fun to me.
