The Nintendo Switch 2 is advertised as having 256GB of internal storage, but how much of that is actually usable storage? Well, it turns out that you’ll actually have 249GB of available storage for your games. This is because the Nintendo Switch 2 operating system takes up 6GB. This is the same as any electrical device you purchase such as a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S as there’s always reserved space for the OS. You can read a detailed breakdown of the Nintendo Switch 2 storage space here.

Still gona need a fat sd card as the games are a lot more gb, especially if there’s too many of these key card monstrosities
Given the key card fiasco.
The minimum should be 500
Why? A lot of people wont use it and you can just buy whatever size SD card if you need more.
After the Wii U’s system taking up at least 10GB of memory for the operating system, it was probably a good move to make the system minimalistic. Although, it would be nice if they could give us options to download themes. Maybe have some free utility apps in the eShop as well.

You already said that already.
Given mentions in the last few weeks about the comment system being janky. I thought it might be self explanatory.
But here you are Sonic.
Apologise for that. Silly WordPress!
How about – thanks for letting me know but it’s the comment system being buggy again.
Planning on getting a micro SD card express after launch so that way it could hold some of my data depending on the game software file size.
That is surprisingly tiny actually.
A phrase I’ve heard before. :(
That’s pretty good, means you get to download more games though personally I never use the system memory to download anything other than system updates.
I suspect this isn’t including the actual system software etc and is just the full drive capacity taking account of the fact drives are advertised with 1000mb =1gb but in reality it’s 1024mb (which is ridiculous and always has been). I would put money on the system software and other overheads still having to be deducted from that capacity.
