Sony is seemingly looking to bring more PlayStation games to Switch 2

According to a newly published job listing, Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking to hire a Senior Director for Multiplatform & Account Management. The job description states that whoever is brought on board will be responsible for “shaping and executing the global commercial strategy for PlayStation Studios software titles across all digital platforms beyond PlayStation hardware, including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo, and mobile.”

Sony has already been experimenting with multiplatform releases beyond PC, as both Patapon 1+2 Replay and Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots are Sony-owned IP that were recently licensed to Bandai Namco to publish on Switch. Furthermore, Sony themselves have even published their own Switch games, including LEGO Horizon Adventures. Based on the new job listing, it looks like Sony is far from done with the idea of putting their games on other platforms.

  1. It’s great to hear that Sony might bring more PlayStation games to the Switch 2! I’m always happy to see more games become available to more players. The Switch lineup just keeps getting better.

  2. Personally, I would be most excited for legacy PS games to come to Switch. Jak and Daxter trilogy, anyone? Sly Cooper trilogy? I would prefer that to the newest games, frankly. But I’m a weirdo.

  3. With all that, I really wonder if there’s still any point in getting a Sony or Microsoft console… that being said, I highly doubt we’ll see God of War or Halo on Nintendo, for that matter, those are still ‘very average’ games they offer. On other sites, I also read that many are wondering why Nintendo doesn’t ‘return the favor’ to Sony and Microsoft…^^

    1. Because it isn’t a favor. We all know that MS’s overhead on those exclusives wasn’t making them any profit. So them going PC made sense. Then going full 3rd party was a no brainer.

Sony on the other hand, always tells us what games makes/sells, but never the cost, or at least rarely. Ever since that insomniac leak, we’ve found out a bit about them. And one of those things is that they aren’t making profit from some of the games that the “fans” have been clamoring about. The main game in question is Ratchet 2021. That game was a complete flop UNTIL the PC ports. So again, them putting the games on other consoles isn’t a favor, it’s a business decision that just makes sense.
