Eurogamer has recently chatted with Tekken 8 director Katsuhiro Harada and asked whether we could see Tekken 8 anytime soon on the Nintendo Switch 2. Harada noted that it would take a lot of work to get the game running on the Nintendo Switch 2 and that the amount of work doesn’t make it an easy decision. He says at this point in time there’s no plans to bring it over.
“It’s an interesting option, and not totally off the table. But it would require a lot of work on the game to get it running on that hardware.”
“From a business standpoint, [the Switch 2] is doing quite well, so it would be a very good business decision if you’re trying to get a bigger audience. But the amount of work that would have to be done on the game makes it not a very easy decision. At this point in time, there are no… (laughs) There is nothing to announce.”
Thanks to MasterPikachu6 for sending in the news tip!

That game is trash and barely sold not to mention low sales on Switch 2. Sparking Zero better
This is the most Cap comment on mynintendonews
… So explain to me why CDPR managed to get Cyberpunk 2077 running on the Switch 2 in less than 7 weeks?
That was a 7-week old build not a something they made in just 7 weeks.
How could you not think that these words will just convey how LAZY you are? Like I’d be thinking I messed up for saying that the entire time after the interview 🤦🏻♂️
Ciao ciao Tekken. You lost Switch and you are going to lost Switch 2. Better for other ips.
Disappointing to hear this but I’m happy I have Street Fighter 6 on my Switch 2
Porting a game on another system is not a easy task to do especially a amount of money the companies will spend.
No one is saying it’s easy, they aren’t even trying. How did they put the effort in porting Sparking Zero but not even consider porting Tekken 8?
No one is playing Tekken. Sparking Zero they need the Japanese audience which is on Nintendo and a whole other crowd could double sales. Also it’s on Switch 1. Hope could be they finally prioritize that game and get DLC flowing instead of investing in their flop Tekken and other flops. Bleach Rebirth Of Souls needs a port too.
Switch 2 is a piece of junk with kiddy cheap graphics
It’s a powerful handheld and no gamer cares about graphics. Graphics snobs do, but they don’t even play the most graphically intensive games because they’re hypocrites and just want to demean something/someone.
Farewell, Tekken. You’ve already missed the opportunity on the Switch, and it looks like Switch 2 might slip away too. It could be a better move to focus on other IPs where the audience is still eager and the platform support is stronger.
You know, thinking more about it, Tekken’s situation kind of reminds me of when a big brand I followed ignored a fast-growing platform, assuming it wouldn’t matter—only to see competitors swoop in and dominate. Sometimes the issue isn’t just the platform, but how well you adapt your content and features for new audiences. That’s why I’ve been looking into tools like <a href=”https://quibohub.com/webas/>webas—because they show how smart adaptation can turn a missed opportunity into a second chance. If Tekken could take a similar approach, Switch 2 might not be a lost cause after all.
Sorry, I might have been a bit blunt earlier about Tekken’s missed opportunities. Thinking more about it, it actually reminds me of when a major brand I followed ignored a fast-growing platform, thinking it wouldn’t make a difference—only for competitors to dominate the space. Sometimes the real challenge isn’t just the platform itself, but how well you adapt for new audiences. That’s why I’ve been exploring tools like webas, which show how smart adaptation can turn a lost opportunity into a second chance. If Tekken took a similar approach, maybe Switch 2 wouldn’t be out of reach.
Tekken 8 is trash that’s why. The game flopped the DLC is not moving and activity is low compared to sales. Influencers now on cope admitting it needs to turn around but it’s too late. The game could have come back with guests like Yujiro Hanma and Pickle from Baki but didn’t instead used Clive and Tifa looks to be next. Season 3 will not save this game. Everyone overhyped the “big 3” but all have failed MK1, Tekken 8, and Street Fighter 6 which promised to sell 10 million which it didn’t add to other Capcom woes and it’s not good also lower activity like 200k players to 6.5 million copies doesn’t look good same with low DLC and costume sales. Fighting games went into the toilet. Guilty Gear is another Strive sold well because ponies needed something for PS5 and Game Pass boosted the number of players that have played the game past tense but Strive 2 and DLC will flop. Don’t listen to influencers out of touch FGC this is what you get flops especially older out of touch milennial California’s and left wing political types Max Dood.
Do you know this Marlboro red? If so please advise how to get them in the UK?
