Shenmue 3 Enhanced Edition announced for Nintendo Switch

ININ Games and YSNET have announced a revamped version of Shenmue 3 which is titled Shenmue 3 Enhanced Edition for the Nintendo Switch console. It’s not clear if this is the original Nintendo Switch or just Nintendo Switch 2, or both. Those who already own the game on other platforms will be offered an upgrade path for Shenmue 3 Enhanced Edition.

  • Enhanced Graphics & Performance – Sharper textures, richer details, faster load times, and smoother gameplay.
  • 4K Texture Uplift – Refined, more detailed environments and characters
  • DLSS/FSR Support – High-quality upscaling without sacrificing performance (supported platforms only).
  • Increased NPC Density – The city village Niaowu feels more alive with more characters populating the streets.
  • Classic Camera Mode – An optional camera perspective inspired by Shenmue I & II, alongside the modern view.
  • Gameplay Tweaks – Optional stamina system adjustments, health restoration before fights, and reduced money barriers for smoother progression.
  • Improved Interactions – Cutscene and conversation skip options, expanded QTE timing window for more accessible gameplay.

    1. Ys Net and Inin Games do not own the rights to Shenmue 1 & 2. Sega owns those. So it’s nagging Sega now to get them to step up. Which they did step up before after Shenmue 3 was getting developed to cash in by porting 1 & 2 over… hopefully they do that a gain now that 3 is coming to Switch 2.

  1. Why isn’t Sega doing this? Honestly RGG should partner with Suzuki to remake 1-3 and then make 4 and 5 since Suzuki claims 5 is what he envisioned as the final game just do that. Also the anime bring it back I need a Blu-Ray of that it was soooo good.
