Insider Gaming: Rayman progressing “incredibly well” plus Rayman 4 is in planning stages

We learned a few months back that Ubisoft is currently developing a AAA Rayman video game. Fast forward to today and we’ve learned that the project is currently progressing “incredibly well” according to those familiar with the game’s development. Ubisoft has the new Rayman project scheduled for a late 2026 release. Insider Gaming also claims that Ubisoft has already made “preliminary plans to develop Rayman 4” though it’s not clear how far along those plans are. Insider Gaming says that this will be dependant on how the new Rayman game, codenamed Steambot, performs at retail.

  1. In other news Xbox promoted the woman who was in charge of Everwild the game that was a mess from day one to chief of staff? Like how awful are the people at Microsoft? Anyone should be able to get a job there no degree with this level of dumb. Only mentioned it because Rare was once Nintendo and Xbox releases multiplatform now.

    1. Also tied to that apparently Take2 tried to buy the Perfect Dark IP to pick up and fund the reboot that just got canceled. Crazy.

        1. Yup, then MS Gave Crystal Dynamics a chance to buy the IP (or maybe just that entry), but since the Embracer groups owns Crystal D, Embracer had to be the ones footing the bill. Embracer doesn’t really have cash like that so they brought in 2k. the deal ultimately fell through because 2K wanted the IP for longer than MS was willing to let them have it for what was being offered. But the IP couldve been saved.

At least that’s what’s being said according to Jason at Kotaku.

          1. Daaaang! Perfect Dark was always one of the cooler games from its era, and I was looking forward to that reboot. Maybe it could still be saved though

            1. The reboot didn’t look that amazing, actually. It looked nothing like a Perfect Dark game, Joanna’s model was extremely ugly and the developers were actively antagonizing gamers in their social media.

              Honestly, good riddance.

  2. Not believing it. Ubisoft is in very dire straits, at the risk of declaring bankruptcy at any moment. People didn’t care about Outlaws, and with the NS2 version running as bad as the others, they won’t. Shadows was a flop. The supposed PoP remake is in development hell.

  3. Tom Henderson has actually gotten thing wrong look he said they’d show Beyond Good And Evil 2 last year but no show, he said EA was bringing Fight Night back after UFC 5 still nothing, and he said Rockstar was making Bully 2 guys track record went from spotless to spotty. His VGC days he was almost never wrong the Bully and Fight Night reports were from back then
