French retailer E.Leclerc has announced it has permanently lowered the pricing of its Nintendo Switch 2 consoles in an effort to increase sales. The retailer has announced that it has lowered the pricing of the Mario Kart World bundle and the Pokemon Legends Z-A bundle to €469 starting from 14th October, It’s not clear yet whether other French retailers are planning to do the same with their Nintendo Switch 2 stock.

  1. Anyone who’s not a right winger should leave the US for Europe, Mexico, Venezuela, or Cuba don’t enable what’s going on here the US was always bigoted it won’t change don’t waste your energy or time. France is way better and the governments will listen. Even outside gaming because I do think sadly Nintendo will be fully Saudi owned

      1. The country is actually one of the biggest outside entities to own stock in Nintendo. Their ownership is like at 8 percent. The majority of it is own by big corporations in Japan, but none of them have 8 percent ownership like Saudi, I heard they sold some of that stock, but I’m not entire sure how much of it was sold. Still though, that country has been buying stock in video games companies left and right within the last 5 years.

      1. Start with yourself, and then make it clear you’re not American whenever you tell people to leave America so they can know exactly how to treat your opinion.

  2. That’s really bad. Switch 2 seems like a total flop in Europe. France is usually a hit for Nintendo. Getting Wii U vibes…

Maybe going forward Nintendo should just focus on price more than power. Switch 2 is where it should be in terms of price considering its specs and features, but because it’s Nintendo people are harsh on it and think it should cost less than Series S just because it’s weaker. The same scrutiny isn’t applied to any of the PC handhelds. Based on reports, Nintendo would be losing well over $150 per unit to hit the $300 price that most people think it’s worth.

The only other alternative would have been to give up BC so they could switch over to AMD. Either way, I don’t think Switch 2 is going to be much of a success at this point. I’m not sure what they can realistically do about it either other than taking a PS360 type of loss for the next few years.

    1. 200 000 units sold in 1 week-end, retailers made an effort to lower price since the beginning (console and games), best console launch in France

Your post looks like troll, by the way, or it comes from the past, before the switch 2 launch : “Either way, I don’t think Switch 2 is going to be much of a success at this point” => WTF ? More than 5 millions consoles in like 2 months, I don’t understand your point.

  3. I think this is good news, Nintendo got too cocky with the price of his stuff and it’s probably not doing that great outside of Japan, the fact they are lowering the price means that they acknowledge that a really good chunk of their audience will not be able to enjoy their products, especially kids.
Nintendo makes pieces of art that will be with you as unforgettable memories for the rest of your life, that’s how hardcore Nintendo fans are born, if Nintendo doesn’t give the opportunity to the younger audience they will lose a ton of fans that will remain with them for many years.

  4. Tentri: So according to you, Nintendo should give their consoles away for free or sell at a loss just because ‘it’s too expensive for kids’?

    Nonsense.

      1. japan specifically has it cause of weak currency and importance of maintaining brand at home, not feasible to price like that everywhere

        1. Importance of maintaining brand at home? DUDE Nintendo’s home is THE ENTIRE PLANET, also the weak currency thing is insanely cap, cause other countries have weak currencies and have the same prices as the rest of the world if not WORSE

  5. Leclerc is a retailer that is known for selling at a lower price. This doesn’t mean that the Switch 2 is selling poorly, or that all other retailers will lower their prices as well. They have been selling the NS2 at this price since day 1.

  6. Hello, I’m French.
The price of the packs at Leclerc is currently still €499.
To answer a comment above, no, France is not idyllic, and there are major problems here too.
    Stop fantasizing about this country.
Otherwise, the console is selling very well here.
    Merci.

  7. This is a smart move by E.Leclerc. With the increasing demand for more affordable next-gen gaming, permanently lowering the Nintendo Switch 2 bundle prices could definitely boost accessibility and sales. It’ll be interesting to see if other retailers follow their lead.

Also, for those exploring gaming beyond consoles, Magis APK has been gaining attention lately for offering curated Android gaming experiences that complement titles like Pokémon Legends Z-A perfectly — especially for users on the go.

  8. This is a smart and customer-focused move by E.Leclerc. Permanently reducing the price of Nintendo Switch 2 bundles could significantly boost sales and make next-gen gaming more accessible, especially with popular titles like Mario Kart and Pokémon included.
